You will probably never face anything more difficult than the death of someone you love.
The sadness, pain and loneliness can at times seem unbearable.
And one of the hardest parts of dealing with the loss of someone you were close to, is coming to terms with the fact that you will never get to see them again in this lifetime.
But then one night you go to bed, and you have a dream about them. And when you wake up, you feel differently. You feel as if you HAVE seen them again, and sometimes you get a chance to talk to them, or sometimes they are talking to you.
After having such an experience, you might feel better, you could feel worse, but most likely it all felt very real to you.
What you have experienced is called a grief dream and it is something Dr. Joshua Black has studied his entire career.
Who has these dreams?
What do they mean?
How can they help you in your grief journey?
And what if you long for such a dream and it never comes?
These are just a few of the questions I asked Dr. Black as we discussed grief dreams in the latest episode of The Grief Anonymous Podcast.
If you yourself have experienced a grief dream, you will definitely want to listen to our conversation.
It is fascinating.
